Prevent Elder Abuse

Do you know an elderly person who lives alone, with someone or in a facility? If so, that person is a target for elder abuse — physically, emotionally and through theft of property. Like the poster says: “Some people respect their elders and some people abuse them.” Are they being properly cared for? Or are they being physically or mentally abused or their possessions and money being stolen?

Abuse of the elderly is a violation of state law in Texas and carries a stiff penalty. Look at the list of indicators on the poster and if you know of an elder who is being abused, please report it immediately and act to stop the abuse. Report it until you get results…. This Crime Prevention Message is brought to you by the Fannin County Criminal District Attorney as a public service.

Please feel free to pass these posters and information on.
